Monty Python, Almost the Truth was the first full documentary series covering the real story behind Monty Python, told by the Pythons themselves. Made Visual Studio were the animators and animation producers, which involved an extended opening title sequence blending live action with animation, transitions between the various parts of the documentary and special release trailer.
The documentary was released in the UK across VUE cinemas before hitting television screens via a one-hour cut on the BBC. However the seven one-hour episode series on the IFC drew the plaudits, as it was double-nominated at the EMMY awards in 2010.
